Sizing Up The Media—Decoding The Messages
(Grade 9 and up)
We view 500 ads daily with 10% of these ads directly influencing our beliefs about beauty and success.
What Is the Media Selling Us?
This unique presentation examines how the images of women in the media create feelings of negative body image, inadequacy, low self-esteem and put us at risk for eating disorders.
Through the use of visual aids, this workshop encourages viewers to re-evaluate the images presented by the advertising industry and to take action against these toxic messages. This presentation is available for schools, community groups, annual meetings, conferences or public education events.
