With eating disorders having a higher mortality rate than any other mental health condition, BANA and Teen Health WECHC will mark Eating Disorders Awareness Week 2017 with a new campaign encouraging people to be themselves through our “Be YourSELFIE” project.
In today’s technological age, all too often we are subjected to, or participate in, the editing of photos to “enhance”, “filter” or “modify” the end result into pre-concieved images of what the “ideal” body image should be. We think that being yourself is beautiful and this should be celebrated. Though the use of a standard Polaroid camera, No Filters, No Editing, we’ll be asking people to share who they are in the moment and truly – Be Yourself.
Photo’s will be posted on location as we travel throughout Windsor-Essex over the next week and on our BANABeYourSelfie facebook page at www.facebook.com/BANABeYourSelfie.
