As part of the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association’s (BANA) mandate of promoting a healthy balanced lifestyle, we developed a video response to a disturbing health trend originating from China. The movement, called ‘A4 Waist Challenge’, has sparked a dangerous practice which encourages people to pose with an A4-sized piece paper (a span of approximately 8.3 inches, or 21 centimetres) across their waists. The images circulated on social media are sparking a debate about beauty standards.
