On June 16th, 2015 the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association hosted their 31st Annual General Meeting.
The Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association (BANA) is a not-for-profit, registered charity, community-based organization servicing the Windsor-Essex Region in Ontario, Canada. Since 1983, BANA has been committed to the provision of specialized treatment, education and support services for individuals affected directly and indirectly by eating disorders. As the primary regional source for the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, we are a leader in the promotion and acceptance of diverse body shapes and sizes through the adoption of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
In addition to Staff and Board reports on BANA’s 2014-2015 operational year, greetings were brought from the Erie St. Clair LHIN by Dawn Maziak, Health System Design Manager and Mental Health Lead.
As part of the event, BANA presented 4 perpetual Community Awards and 1 Leadership Award:
The Community Awards are given in recognition of an individual(s) or organization in the following categories “who have demonstrated a commitment to the enhancement of healthy lifestyles in our community.”

The Moriarty Leadership Award is named after BANA Founders Dr. Richard (Dick) and Mary Moriarty and is presented “in recognition of outstanding leadership and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association.”
