It’s that time of year when we say goodbye to our U of Windsor Social Work Interns. It’s been wonderful having them here at BANA since September and they’ve been a tremendous asset to our team and clients. They’ve asked to leave a few parting words for all of you about their experiences at BANA.
Thanks… IT’S BEEN A BLAST!!!
A bitter sweet ending – I have had the wonderful opportunity to intern at BANA since September and I cannot believe how fast it flew by. BANA has bettered my development as a Social Worker and I am truly grateful for each staff and client that has influenced my learning experience. I identify with being a Body Positive & Self-Love Warrior and I know that my experience here has allowed my affirmed beliefs to grow and further develop. Although I am sad to leave, I am very excited for my next journey in completing my Master of Social Work degree at Wayne State to begin. Thank you again, to such a wonderful community agency for the opportunity to learn, grow, and be a part of the BANA team.

My clinical intern experience at the Bulimia Anorexia Nervosa Association has been challenging and rewarding. Throughout my placement I have been fortunate enough to work and learn from the amazing staff. Each staff member has taught me valuable techniques and inspired me as a social worker. The clients have also allowed me to take part in their journey to remission and I am truly thankful for this experience.
I am grateful for this wonderful learning opportunity and am going to miss coming here. Thank you very much for allowing me to be part of the team.

I would like to greatly thank the BANA staff for allowing me to do my Social Work Clinical Internship at the agency. By being placed at BANA I have had the opportunity to grow as a Social Worker and learn from the skills and knowledge the staff at the agency possess. Thanks to the staff I now feel ready to take part in the workforce, and hope to influence much needed social change and policy reform. I have had the opportunity to build on much of my social work knowledge, and have become extremely comfortable working with clients and facilitating group therapy. Being at BANA has fueled my passion to work with individuals with eating disorders, and promote a healthy balanced lifestyle.
Thank you to the BANA staff for having me as a Clinical Social Work Intern and allowing me to learn and grow as a professional.
